Return to Cruising

About River or Ocean Cruises
As we patiently wait for the cruise lines to return to service there are a few items to consider if you are planning to book a cruise in the next 2 years.
Prices are at an all-time low right now with some fantastic deals being posted by the cruise lines, but please keep in mind that the itineraries are projected, and we do anticipate changes to the sailings of all cruise lines as ships come back online and accept voyages and passengers.
Cruise lines have communicated to us that it will take some time to bring ships back to service, and some are telling us to expect 1 or 2 ships to start and adding 1 or 2 every month. Saying this it will take several months once cruising starts to return to capacity.
This all makes sense as the ships have been in warm storage with skeleton crews on board with minimal supplies on board. Ships will have to be re-crewed, and the crews will have to be trained in all new procedures for COVID-19 safety and enhanced cleaning protocols.
With all this in mind, is this a good time to book a cruise for late 2021 and the spring of 2022? The answer is a big YES! Prices and package deals are fantastic right now as all cruise lines are doing their most to attract customers. Cruise lines are offering a lift and move option whereby if your future booked cruise does move, they will assist you in moving your cruise to a different date.
This will be inconvenient for a time, but this time of uncertainty in sailing dates should pass rather quickly and should not cause disruptions for very long.
With the refundable and moveable deposits available today (not to mention the perks packages included) now is the time to book and guarantee your place and price as the prices will undoubtedly only go up as the demand rises later in the year.
If you are thinking of cruising anywhere in the world in the next 2 – 3 years, we strongly recommend you contact ASAP and at least get your deposit in to secure your spot and have something to look forward to. Contact either myself (wyatt@awayugo.ca) or call Sheila in the office (587-360-2929) to help you plan your cruise vacation.
